The Release Party – A Recap

The Release Party – A Recap

Tweet The release party at Oasis was a blast for everyone involved. The owner of the juice bar went so far as to text Liz and ask us when we were coming back. As for the bestseller push, White Shores made it to three lists at one point. I never saw what the best standings were, and it didn’t help that I was away from the internet most of the day, but it got close to #3,000 on the overall bestseller’s list, #14 on Epic Fantasy, #40 in Fantasy overall, and there was another list to do with hot new releases. We had some great readers at Oasis, and some fantastic musical performances. There’s a lot of talent around here. I think what surprised me the most was how enraptured with the readings people got. The whole place was packed, to the point that...

The Time is Now

The Time is Now

Tweet As I write this, in my time zone, it’s July 20th. That means you need to get off your fat… wait… no stay on it and go to amazon right now. It’s time to make some history and propel The Vitalis Chronicles: White Shores to the bestseller’s list on Amazon today. The paperback (as of this moment) isn’t directly available on Amazon yet. They picked one copy up for $444 though (feel FREE to buy that one). It is on Barnes & Noble, and I won’t press you to buy it anywhere else. What if we got the kindle version on the bestseller list for Amazon, and the paperback on the list for B&N? THAT would be an accomplishment. So… sorry Amazon. Should have gotten on the ball sooner, now the paperback sales go to B&N....

Release Party

Release Party

Tweet On the off chance that you’re in Freetown next week, we’ll be having a release party for the book. Wednesday at 7PM, with some live music and excerpts from the book. I won’t lie, it’s gonna be a bit strange to have people reading from my book – out loud – in public… weird. It should be a good time. Assuming you’re waiting for the July 20th release date, I should probably say that it’s become the “hopeful” release date. The Kindle version is already available for sale, and if you want to buy White Shores on Kindle you’re welcome to do so. But I’d still ask that if you can wait until July 18th – 22nd that would be the best for the whole bestseller push. The book is available...

My book is exactly like LOTR

My book is exactly like LOTR

Tweet I get the following question a lot regarding my book: “So… is it like Lord of the Rings?” It’s an honest question. I mean, how could they know? But after slapping my forehead I usually say something like: “Yes, yes it is. It’s actually pretty much the exact same story. There are hobbits, orcs, and a spider named Shelob.” “So what’s different about it? Does it have elves?” “The difference.” I say, “Is that instead of a hobbit trying to destroy a ring, it’s a ring, get this… it’s a ring trying to destroy a hobbit!” I then smile really big and wait for some synapses to connect. If they do, and it’s not the – oh, this is sarcasm – synapses I...

Teaser Time – The Map

Teaser Time – The Map

Tweet So if you download the Kindle version of White Shores, you’re bound to discover the map just a few pages in. In fact, this could make you really happy. The thing that bugs me in the end is that it’s so dang small on a Kindle. Unless you’ve got it open on your computer or tablet, you’re not gonna get a very large version. Even with a tablet – at least on the iPad I previewed it on – every time you try to rotate it to look at it properly it rotates itself away from you again. Frustration has a new name… Anyhoo. I’ll post a resources section eventually. It’ll have all of that extra info surrounding the books that someone is bound to want at some point. The maps will all find their ways there. Of course the...
