My first ISBN

I‘m in the process of buying my first ISBN and figured I’d write about it while I wait… the internet is slower than the advance of arthritis right now. The whole process of self-publishing seems to be more treacherous than I’d initially thought, go figure. I guess that’s why authors pay people to do it for them

The more research I’ve done, however, the more I’m convinced I need to do this all myself. I don’t really want to let lulu do my ebook publishing as it sounds like they’ll wind up taking a cut of my sales, unlike the kind souls over at bibliocore who will deliver my book to the iBookstore for a flat, up front fee. Hopefully not a HUGE fee considering they don’t advertise how much it is, but I have a feeling it’ll be reasonable.

Either way I’ll have to wait, the firewall on the ship keeps blocking my attempts to purchase my ISBNs. It’s amazing how large of a discount they give when it comes to bulk pricing. I’ll have to get back to this when I actually have something to report. For now I’ll work on formatting White Shores into an ePub and see how that goes.
